10 days since MRI - no results yet

Having the MRI scan offered some hope that we would get to the bottom of what has been causing my back pain - however - 10 days on and still no news from this.

I had been originally told that the result would be much quicker. What does it actually take to read and interpret an MRI scan?

So glad that I had self treated this sciatica / piriformis - or I would still have the originally agony I was suffering for so long.

I found your blog really interesting. Thank your for sharing your experiences so far. I am following a similar scenario. My back pain started in Dec and then my symptoms got much worse. I have sciatica and am unable to sit for any length of time and driving is extremely painful. I have had 3 months of phsyio at the hospital once a week however there has not been any real improvement so far. I am waiting for my MRI which is in a week as the consultant will not treat me without it. I now think I have this condition and realise I need deeper physio and will persevere with the exercises as I need to definitely loosen up this muscle.
Will await your updated blog with interest.
Best wishes

Hi Sunflower..

when you have physio at the hospital - do they teach you what stretching and exercise you can do on you own. I found that trying to find opportunities during the day at work and then in the evening at home to do gradually more stretching.

The tennis ball trick is also very good - a bit painful at first but I think that seems to be one of the more reliable ones to try.

I have just had 10 hours of driving in the past 2 days - so have a bit of soreness - at the start of the sciatica this would have been impossible to manage. Now there is some dull ache but nothing too bad.

Your comments just reminded me to do some stretching..

Hope your MRI is showing something up that they can treat.
